What you're getting
A floor that works as hard as the space.
A high-build epoxy is a much thicker coating than a paint or a sealer. It goes down in a single solid colour over diamond-ground concrete and cures into one continuous, sealed surface — so the slab stops dusting up onto stock, racking and machinery.
Sealed floors are easier to sweep, mop and keep tidy, and a lighter colour with a gloss finish throws the light around a big space. Where you want texture and a pattern that hides wear — a shop floor, say — flake works commercially too.
Commercial slabs come with history: old coatings, adhesive from past fit-outs, cracks and patched areas. That's all dealt with in prep — grinding back, removing what's failed and repairing what's damaged — before any epoxy goes down.

The difference
Bare slab to finished floor.
A fit-out with the partition walls in and the slab still bare, then the same space finished in high-gloss grey epoxy. The two photos were taken from different spots in the room.

Prep
Diamond grinding back to sound concrete, with old coatings and adhesive removed and cracks and damaged areas repaired.
Build the coating
Epoxy goes down in the system that suits the space — high-build solid colour, or flake where it fits.
Cure
The floor is left to cure before the area goes back into use.
Why epoxy for commercial
Built for traffic, stock and cleaning.
No more slab dust
Sealing the concrete stops it dusting up onto stock, racking and equipment.
Easy to keep clean
One continuous sealed surface sweeps and mops without dirt working into the concrete.
Brighter spaces
A light, glossy floor reflects the lighting you've already got.
Spills sit on top
Oils and everyday spills sit on the surface rather than soaking into the slab.
Solid colour or flake
A clean single colour for warehouses and workshops, or flake for texture and a pattern that hides wear.
Worn floors recoated
A worn commercial coating can often be recoated; one that's lifting gets ground back first.
Questions
Commercial epoxy flooring questions.
What kind of epoxy flooring suits a warehouse or workshop?
Usually a high-build solid-colour epoxy system — a thicker coating in one colour that seals the slab, stops concrete dust and cleans up easily. Flake also works in commercial spaces like shops, where texture and a pattern that hides wear are useful.
Can you coat the floor during a fit-out?
Yes. An empty space is the easiest time to do it — the before and after on this page is a fit-out with the partition walls already in. Talk timing through with Tom so the floor fits around the rest of the build.
How soon can we use the floor again?
It depends on the coating system and the conditions, because each layer needs to cure. Ask Tom for the timeline when he quotes so you can plan around it.
Can an old or worn commercial floor be recoated?
Often, yes. A coating that's sound but worn can usually be recoated, while one that's lifting or flaking has to be ground back to sound concrete first. Tom will tell you which after he's seen it.
Do you do commercial floors in Caboolture and Brisbane?
Yes. Tom's based in Caloundra and covers the whole run from the Sunshine Coast down to Brisbane — Caboolture, the rest of Moreton Bay and everywhere in between.
