Epoxy shed flooring in Beerwah and Landsborough

Out past Beerwah and Landsborough the shed is often the biggest slab on the property, and Tom lays epoxy shed flooring in those acreage sheds. The concrete is ground back, then coated in flake or solid-colour epoxy that seals the dust and keeps oil, grease and dirt on the surface.

Local to the hinterland

Big sheds, dusty slabs.

Acreage blocks around Beerwah, Landsborough and the Glass House Mountains tend to come with a proper shed — a big colourbond build for the ute, the tractor or the ride-on, a workbench, and everything else that needs a roof over it.

That's a lot of bare concrete, and it behaves the same at any size: it dusts up onto everything stored on it, soaks up oil and grease, and red dirt walks straight into it. A flake floor seals the slab so it sweeps and hoses clean, and a lighter colour brightens a big single-skin shed.

The process is the same as a home garage, just more slab — and on a big floor, prep is the part that decides whether the coating lasts. The full rundown is on the garages and sheds page.

Questions

Beerwah and Landsborough shed questions.

Can you epoxy a big shed floor on acreage?

Yes. A big acreage shed gets the same process as a home garage — grinding, repairs, epoxy base coats, flake and a topcoat — there's just more floor. Tom quotes after seeing the slab.

Do you come out to Glass House Mountains, Peachester and Mooloolah Valley?

Yes. They're all part of Tom's area around Beerwah and Landsborough, which sits within his run from the Sunshine Coast down to Brisbane.

Can a new shed slab be coated straight away?

Not straight away. New concrete needs time to cure before it can be coated, and that depends on the slab and the conditions — so mention when it was poured when you ask for a quote.

Is it worth coating a shed that's used for machinery and dirty work?

That's where a sealed floor earns its keep. It stops the dust, keeps oil and grease on the surface and sweeps or hoses clean, so the shed is easier to stay on top of.
